Using Galatians 2, 2 Corinthians 5, and Colossians 3, Duane explains that the "old self" in Adam was crucified with Christ and that every born-again believer has become a new creation. Many insecurities, jealousies, fears, and feelings of inferiority are rooted in identifying with the flesh rather than with the new man in Christ. There is a difference between arrogance and godly confidence. Arrogance trusts in self, while true confidence trusts in Christ in us, the hope of glory. Leaders who develop a high Christ-esteem become secure, joyful, Spirit-led, and equipped to bring light, encouragement, and blessing everywhere they go.
