A lot of Japanese learners learn:

kara = becausedakara = so

But if you think about them this way, you might accidentally say something like:

あついだから、エアコンを つけました。 ❌

In this episode, we’ll look at kara and dakara together and see why the sentence structure is different.

あついから、エアコンを つけました。
“It’s hot, so I turned on the air conditioner.”

vs.

あついです。だから、エアコンを つけました。
“It’s hot. So, I turned on the air conditioner.”

We’ll look at the difference between one sentence with kara and two sentences with dakara, with simple everyday examples.
