Fort Laramie presents “Black Hills Gold,” episode 17 of the CBS Radio Western, originally broadcast May 20, 1956. Written by Kathleen Hite and produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, the episode features Raymond Burr, Vic Perrin, Virginia Gregg, and others.
Two prospectors set out for the Black Hills in search of gold, despite a treaty barring white entry into the reservation. As the intrusion threatens already volatile relations, Capt. Lee Quince races to reach Red Cloud before the dispute can become a wider conflict.
Fort Laramie presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
