Fort Laramie presents “Hattie Pelfrey,” episode 8 of the CBS radio series, originally broadcast March 11, 1956. Written by Kathleen Hite and produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, it stars Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince and Vic Perrin as Sgt. Goerss.
Wounded and pursued by Arapahos, Captain Quince and Sergeant Goerss take shelter in the isolated cabin of Hattie Pelfrey, a formidable frontier woman with an unusual interest in rings and jewelry. Their uneasy refuge becomes a tense encounter on the Wyoming frontier.
Fort Laramie presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
