Fort Laramie presents “Sergeant Gorces Baby,” episode 18 of the CBS frontier drama, originally broadcast on May 27, 1956. Raymond Burr stars as Captain Lee Quince, with Vic Perrin as Sergeant Ken Gorce.
When Stella Merchant is expecting a baby just as the post surgeon is ordered out with B Company, Captain Quince and Sergeant Gorce face an urgent emergency at the frontier garrison. Written by Kathleen Hite and directed by Norman Macdonnell, this unusual Fort Laramie story turns from military routine to the pressures of life at an isolated cavalry post.
Fort Laramie presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
