Gunsmoke presents “Robin Hood,” originally broadcast on CBS on January 8, 1955. Cataloged as episode 143, this John Meston script stars William Conrad as U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon, with Parley Baer as Chester and Georgia Ellis as Kitty.
When a delayed stagecoach reaches Dodge after a selective robbery at Rocky Ford, the masked thief’s unusually courtly methods earn him comparisons to Robin Hood. Matt Dillon suspects that a notorious outlaw’s polished reputation may be making him harder to catch. Norman Macdonnell directed and produced.
The 50 Greatest Old Time Radio Shows presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
