CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents “I Am the Killer,” episode 1309, originally broadcast March 31, 1982. Written by Sam Dann and directed by Himan Brown, this historical medical drama stars Keir Dullea as Dr. Ignatz Semmelweis.
In a 19th-century Viennese maternity hospital, a young obstetrician is troubled by an alarming disparity: mothers in the doctors’ ward are dying far more often than those attended by midwives. As he investigates the childbed-fever outbreak, accepted medical practices and the hospital’s daily routines come under searching scrutiny.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
