CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents “Nightmare in Gillette Castle,” originally broadcast July 14, 1980, as episode 1102. Written by Elizabeth Pennell and produced and directed by Himan Brown, it stars Kevin McCarthy as William Gillette.
Sherlock Holmes enthusiast Jim Watson and his wife, Pamela, tour Connecticut’s eccentric Gillette Castle, the real former home of famed Holmes actor William Gillette. Separated from their group, they enter a corridor called Baker Street and find themselves drawn into a mysterious, theatrical world where history and Holmes-like intrigue blur.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
