Gunsmoke presents “Gunsmuggler,” episode 93 of the classic CBS radio series, originally broadcast on January 30, 1954. William Conrad stars as Marshal Matt Dillon, with Parley Baer as Chester. The episode was written by John Meston and directed by Norman Macdonnell.
When a homesteading family is killed by rifles linked to Pawnee raiders, Dillon investigates signs that someone is illegally supplying weapons on the frontier. With Chester and an Indigenous scout, he follows a dangerous trail through the country surrounding Dodge City before the violence can spread further.
Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
