Gunsmoke presents “Lost Rifle,” episode 225 of the classic CBS radio series, originally broadcast July 29, 1956. William Conrad stars as Marshal Matt Dillon in this John Meston script, produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell.
When Dillon steps in to stop a brewing gunfight between Frank Paris and Ben Tipper, a shooting and the presence of a young boy leave Dodge City facing troubling questions. As suspicion settles quickly on one man, Dillon must look beyond the most obvious evidence.
Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
