Gunsmoke presents “Fawn,” episode 75 of the classic CBS radio series, originally broadcast September 26, 1953. William Conrad stars as Marshal Matt Dillon, with Parley Baer as Chester; the episode was written by John Meston and produced by Norman Macdonnell.
Matt and Chester travel to an Army fort to escort Mrs. Phillips, returning after ten years among the Cheyenne, and Fawn, the young Cheyenne girl accompanying her. As they head toward Dodge City, questions of home, family, and prejudice shadow the journey.
Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
