The Shadow presents “The Ghost of Caleb Mackenzie,” originally broadcast January 26, 1941. This is Street & Smith script number 100, written by Jerry Devine for the Mutual Broadcasting System and sponsored by Blue Coal.
On a stormy night at the MacKenzie family home, a wealthy, hostile patriarch summons the relatives he distrusts most. When the prospect of a new will raises tensions, Margo Lane calls on Lamont Cranston to investigate. Bill Johnstone stars as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow, with Marjorie Anderson as Margo Lane, in this old-dark-house mystery promoted as The Shadow’s tenth-anniversary program.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
