The Shadow presents “Poison Death,” originally broadcast January 30, 1938. This Mutual Broadcasting System episode, sponsored by Blue Coal, is commonly listed as episode 105 and features Orson Welles as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow and Agnes Moorehead as Margot Lane.
A wave of poisonings grips an unnamed city as ransom threats signed with the Shadow’s name spread fear. Lamont and Margot investigate the impostor’s scheme while Commissioner Weston and sanitation officials confront the alarming possibility of danger to the city’s water supply.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
