The Shadow presents “Murders in Wax,” originally broadcast May 15, 1938. Episode 120 of the Mutual network’s B.F. Goodrich-sponsored summer run stars Orson Welles as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow, with Margot Stevenson as Margot Lane.
At a circus waxworks museum, a chilling tableau of gangster George Keegan’s arrest becomes the focus of a baffling murder investigation. With figures from Keegan’s past seemingly in danger, Lamont Cranston and Margot Lane follow the trail between the museum, the prison system, and a dangerous campaign of revenge.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
