The Shadow presents “Fountain of Death,” originally broadcast November 27, 1938. This is episode 148 of the Mutual Broadcasting System series, starring Bill Johnstone as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow and Agnes Moorehead as Margot Lane.
When medical researcher Dr. Anna Marler develops a serum with the power to restore youth, her discovery draws dangerous attention from forces eager to turn a scientific breakthrough into an instrument of power. The adventure moves from Marler’s laboratory to a transatlantic flight as the Shadow confronts an international threat. The surviving broadcast includes a B. F. Goodrich Safety Silvertown commercial.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
