The Shadow presents “Death on the Bridge,” originally broadcast March 3, 1940. Episode 189 of the Mutual Broadcasting System series, sponsored by Blue Coal, stars Bill Johnstone as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow and Marjorie Anderson as Margo Lane. The script was written by Sidney Slon.
A series of fatal falls haunts a newly built bridge, where fear has taken hold among the workers. Lamont Cranston goes undercover as a laborer high above the ground, while Margo and Shrevie help him probe the ominous threats surrounding the construction site.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
