The Shadow presents “Death by Imagination,” episode 394, originally broadcast January 26, 1947. This surviving archival recording is incomplete. Bret Morrison stars as Lamont Cranston, with Grace Matthews as Margo Lane; the script was written by William Morwood.
At a mental institution, reports of unexplained deaths and terrified talk of a phantom cat draw The Shadow into a chilling investigation. This episode is preserved as a local archival recording.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
