When no one is watching

いつも行くカフェでぼーっとしていたら、業者さんが、

カフェの前にあるコインロッカーを掃除していました。

そしたら、最後にコインロッカーの上まで掃除していました。

2mくらいあるコインロッカーだったので、上の方は絶対に

誰も見ないと思うのですが、それでもきれいに掃除していました。

誰も見ていないときに、その人の仕事への姿勢が出るんだなと思い、

私も見習いたいなと思いました。

いつも いく かふぇで ぼーっとしていたら、ぎょうしゃさんが、

かふぇの まえに ある こいんろっかーを そうじしていました。

そしたら、さいごに こいんろっかーの うえまで そうじしていました。

にめーとるくらい ある こいんろっかーだったので、

うえの ほうは ぜったいに だれも みないと おもうのですが、

それでも きれいに そうじしていました。だれも みていない ときに、

その ひとの しごとへの しせいが でるんだなと おもい、

わたしも みならいたいなと おもいました。

I was zoning out at my usual café when I noticed a worker

cleaning the luggage lockers outside.

At the very end, he even cleaned the top of them.

The lockers were about two meters tall, so I thought no one would

ever see up there, but he cleaned it thoroughly anyway.

It made me realize that the way someone works when no one is watching

says a lot about their attitude toward their job.

It’s something I’d like to learn from, too.
