Their coach would never allow it.
In this episode I make the case that your life operates on the same principle as athletic training: periods of high demand require recovery on the other side, and applying expansion-season expectations during a recovery season is one of the most common and costly mistakes in self-leadership. I introduce three seasons worth recognizing, expansion, maintenance, and recovery, and challenge the cultural narrative that discipline means pushing hard all the time. Discipline is not the enemy. Chronic discipline is.
