Henry and Mudge in Puddle Trouble is a children's book by Cynthia Rylant that details the seasonal adventures of a young boy and his large dog. This second entry in the series features three distinct chapters that highlight the joys of springtime. In the first story, Henry learns a lesson about patience and sharing when Mudge accidentally eats a vibrant blue flower from their yard. The second tale follows the pair as they ignore boredom to play in a giant puddle, eventually being joined by Henry's father. Finally, the collection concludes with Mudge acting as a protective guardian for a litter of kittens living next door. Through Suçie Stevenson's illustrations, the source emphasizes the enduring bond between a pet and its owner during outdoor play.
