This children's book by Cynthia Rylant follows the sunny summer outing of a young boy named Henry, his father, and his massive dog, Mudge. After packing their supplies and driving to the coast, the trio spends the afternoon swimming in the surf, eating hot dogs, and constructing a detailed sandcastle.
