Fibber McGee and Molly presents “Killer Canova’s Autograph,” episode 216 of the classic NBC comedy series, originally broadcast on October 3, 1939. Jim and Marian Jordan star as Fibber and Molly McGee, with Harold Peary appearing as Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve.
With $500 at stake, Fibber and Molly set out to secure the autograph of celebrity “Killer” Canova. Their visit to Canova’s imposing residence—and its formidable servant—turns a simple celebrity-hunting errand into a typically lively Wistful Vista adventure. This episode is also noted for the first appearance of the name Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve and Marian Jordan’s first on-air singing appearance as Teeny.
Fibber McGee and Molly presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
