Fibber McGee and Molly presents “McGee Controls His Temper,” episode 420, originally broadcast on NBC on December 26, 1944. Jim Jordan stars as Fibber McGee, alongside Marian Jordan as Molly, in the Johnson’s Wax-sponsored comedy series.
At the McGee household, Fibber begins the day in a sour mood and vents to Molly over a string of everyday irritations—including troublesome pajamas, a fountain pen, and the newspaper. Also known in some listings as “Contrary McGee” or “Even-Tempered McGee,” this post-Christmas 1944 broadcast offers a character-driven dose of domestic comedy.
Fibber McGee and Molly presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
