Fibber McGee and Molly presents “The Gas War,” episode 1245, originally broadcast December 9, 1955. This 15-minute NBC rebroadcast stars Jim and Marian Jordan as Fibber and Molly McGee.
During an autumn drive, Fibber spots a local gasoline price war, with prices posted as low as 27.9 cents a gallon. Naturally, even a routine fill-up becomes an opportunity for Fibber’s determined bargain hunting. Ralph Goodman and Phil Leslie wrote the episode, directed by Max Hutto.
Fibber McGee and Molly presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
