Gunsmoke presents “Matt for Murder,” episode 119 of the classic CBS Radio series, originally broadcast July 26, 1954. William Conrad stars as Marshal Matt Dillon, with Parley Baer as Chester and Georgia Ellis as Kitty. Written by John Meston and directed by Norman Macdonnell, this archival recording comes from Dodge City’s most perilous frontier-law cases.
When Matt Dillon is accused of murdering Lou Price, an eyewitness account makes the charge seem dangerously convincing. With his badge, reputation, and freedom at stake—and Wild Bill Hickok arriving to take him into custody—Matt and his friends must examine the evidence behind the accusation.
Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
