Suspense presents “Death Has a Shadow,” originally broadcast on May 5, 1949. This local archival recording is episode 5. Bob Hope stars in an unusually dramatic role as Harvey Warren, a successful attorney, in a CBS presentation sponsored by Auto-Lite.
Alone in his eighth-floor office after dark, Warren receives a threatening telephone call that turns the nearly empty building into a race against time. Written by Joe Pagano and directed by Anton M. Leader, the drama builds tension through a ringing phone, a looming deadline, and the unsettling sounds of an office tower at night.
Suspense presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
