Suspense presents “Death Flies Blind,” originally broadcast May 4, 1943. This archival presentation is episode 4 of the series. Written by John Dickson Carr, the CBS wartime thriller stars Richard Dix and Gale Page.
A U.S. Navy lieutenant commander and his fiancée board a commercial flight from New York, joining a handful of uneasy passengers—including a prominent industrialist. As the aircraft’s course and a passenger’s valuable cargo become matters of growing concern, the confined cabin becomes a setting for suspicion and international intrigue.
Suspense presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
