The Shadow presents “A Gift of Murder,” originally broadcast December 21, 1947, as episode 427. Bret Morrison stars as Lamont Cranston, with Grace Matthews as Margo Lane, in this Mutual Broadcasting System Christmas-season mystery sponsored by Blue Coal.
On a snowy Christmas Eve, Cranston and Margo attend a family gathering at a country estate, where rumors of an inheritance turn holiday cheer into suspicion. As rivalries, conflicting stories, and ominous gifts unsettle the celebration, The Shadow must unravel a dangerous web of greed and deception.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
