The Shadow presents “Poison Death,” originally broadcast January 30, 1938. Commonly cataloged as episode 105, this Mutual Broadcasting System drama stars Orson Welles as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow and Agnes Moorehead as Margot Lane.
A series of alarming poisonings grips the city after threats appear under the Shadow’s name. As Commissioner Weston faces mounting pressure and Cranston is drawn into the case, the investigation leads toward the municipal water system and the Department of Sanitation.
The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
