This episode examines the 1977 disappearance of 18-year-old Jeff Cle and the three-decade investigation that followed. Initially dismissed by authorities as a runaway case, the mystery remained unsolved until Jeff’s van and skeletal remains were recovered from a Florida canal in 2008. The discovery led to a breakthrough involving David Cusinelli, a close friend who allegedly confessed to accidentally killing Jeff during a dispute over a girlfriend. Despite taped admissions from David and his brother regarding the disposal of the vehicle, prosecutors could not file charges due to a lack of physical evidence and an expired statute of limitations. The narrative highlights the Cle family’s persistent search for truth and their eventual, though bittersweet, sense of closure.
