This episode details the suspicious 2012 disappearance and subsequent murder investigation of 76-year-old Patricia Goodband. While her business partner, Christopher Simons, initially claimed he dropped her at a train station, police uncovered a web of deceit involving faked text messages and a forged Christmas card. Detectives eventually discovered the victim's body hidden in a drainage shaft on her own property, leading to the revelation of a premeditated plot fueled by financial greed. Investigations exposed Simons as a habitual liar who maintained multiple secret relationships while gaslighting others about the victim's mental health. A critical handwritten checklist found in the suspect's vehicle ultimately served as the "jigsaw piece" that secured his murder conviction. This account serves as a somber overview of how meticulous forensic work and cell site analysis dismantled a killer's elaborate alibi.
