Escape presents “The Man Who Could Work Miracles,” originally broadcast on CBS on September 19, 1948. This is episode 54, adapted by Les Crutchfield from H. G. Wells’s classic 1898 fantasy-comedy short story.
In a placid English village, mild-mannered George Fotheringay discovers he can make anything happen simply by willing it. His startling gift soon attracts the attention of the skeptical Reverend Maydig and the local townspeople in a supernatural tale of ordinary life pushed beyond the natural order. Ben Wright stars as Fotheringay, with John Dehner as Reverend Maydig; Norman MacDonnell directed and produced.
Old Time Horror Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
