When tragedy strikes and Sudama is about to lose everything, he instinctively cries out to Bhagwan Shri Krishna. In that very moment, the illusion disappears. Sudama emerges from the waters of the Gomti River to find Krishna standing exactly where He had been moments earlier. What felt like decades of life had passed in only an instant.

Through this remarkable story, the Bhaagwat teaches that the material world, though it appears completely real, is temporary and ever-changing. Wealth, power, relationships, success, and even the passage of time are all influenced by Maya, which causes the soul to forget its true spiritual identity. Only the remembrance of Bhagwan enables one to awaken from this illusion and realize the eternal truth.
