A table manners debate in Japan

One table manners topic that often becomes a debate online in Japan

is turning your chopsticks around when using them.

This means turning your chopsticks around

when you are eating with other people

and taking your portion from a large shared plate.

Some people say that taking food with the end

that has been in your mouth is bad manners,

while others say that using the end you hold with your hand is dirtier.

I agree with the latter, but what do you think?
