Steven Spielberg and his production company, Amblin, have officially scheduled a theatrical release for The Mandela Catalogue, a film adaptation of the viral analog horror YouTube series. Set to debut on June 9, 2028, the project aims to capitalize on the recent financial success of other internet-inspired horror hits like Backrooms. The original creator, Alex Kister, will direct the supernatural thriller, which focuses on sinister, shape-shifting entities known as Alternates. This production is part of a broader collaboration between Amblin, Amazon MGM, and United Artists to target younger audiences during the competitive summer movie season. While Spielberg is actively producing this and other high-profile sequels, he has not yet confirmed his next personal directing project following the release of Disclosure Day.
