Oslo Urban Week headliners: Dr. Jesse Shapins and Abigail Scott Paul

The two headliners of Oslo Urban Week, Dr. Jesse Shapins and Abigail Scott Paul are in my kitchen studio! 

Jesse Shapins is the Co-Head of Neighbourhood Investments and Head of Urban Regeneration at Urban Partners. They have a different approach to development; they start with the end: Make a nice place and the yield and return on investment will come. And you get great cities. Sounds good, no?

Abigail Scott Paul, Global Head of the Humanise Campaign, Heatherwick Studios. The Humanise Campaign says NO! to the "blandemic" - all the boring, built boxes with straight and depressing facades. They argue that adding joy in the process, working with ornamentation and details, and re-establish human focus in our way of working can make our cities more interesting and human.
