Cy: O dan yr awyr lasgell o Fategonia, roedd y gystadleuaeth eisteddfod ar ei hanterth.
En: Under the blue sky of Fategonia, the eisteddfod competition was in full swing.
Cy: Gathin, gyda dim ond llyfr barddoniaeth yn ei law, llithrodd trwy'r torfeydd lliwgar o bobl leol.
En: Gethin, with just a book of poetry in his hand, slipped through the colorful crowds of locals.
Cy: Ar lawnt agored, arlliwiedig o flodau gwyllt lliwgar, roedd llwyfan pren bychan wedi'i haddurno â symbolau traddodiadol Cymreig a Phatagonaidd, ac arno roedd pobl yn perfformio'n llafar.
En: On an open lawn, tinted with colorful wildflowers, a small wooden stage adorned with traditional Welsh and Patagonian symbols stood, upon which people were performing orally.
Cy: Eira, ffrind Gethin, eisteddai'n agos, wrth ei ochr fel bodlonrwydd ac ysbrydoliaeth.
En: Eira, Gethin's friend, sat close by, beside him like contentment and inspiration.
Cy: “Paid â phoeni, Gethin,” sibrydodd hi, gydag ychydig o sardonig ffeind cariadus.
En: “Don’t worry, Gethin,” she whispered, with a bit of loving sardonicism.
Cy: “Bydd yno llawer o bobl yn gwneud camgymeriadau heddiw.
En: “There will be many people making mistakes today.
Cy: Mae'n ymwneud â'r profiad.”
En: It’s about the experience.”
Cy: Wrth i Llew, cystadleuydd profiadol y gymuned leol, neidio ar y llwyfan â symlrwydd, roedd y cynulleidfa eisoes yn gwybod eu bod yng nghwmni dyhysbydd.
En: As Llew, an experienced local community competitor, jumped onto the stage with simplicity, the audience already knew they were in the company of a versatile performer.
Cy: Roedd ei eiriau fel mellt yn trawsni allan yn rhwydd.
En: His words flashed like lightning effortlessly.
Cy: Aeth Llew i ffwrdd gyda phopeth roedd y dychmygol eisteddfod yn cynnig.
En: Llew took away everything the imagined eisteddfod had to offer.
Cy: Pan ddaeth ei gyfle ef, cerddai Gethin at ganol y llwyfan, gyda chwyth o nerfusrwydd yn ei wasg.
En: When his turn came, Gethin walked to the center of the stage, with a gust of nervousness in his stomach.
Cy: Roedd yn benderfynol o wneud argraff, felly penderfynodd ychwanegu cyffyrddiadau lleol Santafes i'w gerdd.
En: Determined to make an impression, he decided to add local Santafes touches to his poem.
Cy: Ond wrth iddo ddechrau, fe wnaeth gamgymeriad syfrdanol.
En: But as he began, he made a stunning mistake.
Cy: Roedd wedi dysgu geiriau newydd er mwyn swnio'n ddwyieithog, ond mewn camgymeriad ffraeth, dewisodd air o Bategonia a oedd yn swnio'n debyg i un Cymraeg, ond golygai rywbeth cwbl wahanol.
En: He had learned new words to sound bilingual, but in a witty error, he chose a word from Bategonia that sounded similar to a Welsh one but meant something entirely different.
Cy: Y gynulleidfa oedd hefyd wedi darllen y gair â chwerthin yn disgyn, a byddai unrhyw un newydd fethu â chymharu eu cyfanswm.
En: The audience, who had also read the word, fell into laughter, and anyone new would fail to compare their total.
Cy: Roedd y llwyfan yn sŵn â chwerthin diffuant.
En: The stage was filled with genuine laughter.
Cy: Eriol, er mwyn ei gywiro, clenodd Gethin gydag ychydig o'r hyn a oedd yn edrych fel embaras, ond roedd yn amau'n falch.
En: In an attempt to correct himself, Gethin grinned with what seemed like embarrassment, yet he suspected with pride.
Cy: Pan adawodd y llwyfan, roedd y cymeradwyaeth yn gynnes, a Llew yn ymylu at Gethin, a dweud, "Daethoch chi a drws a chasglodd llawer, Gethin. Y bwriad sydd yn cyfrif."
En: When he left the stage, the applause was warm, and Llew approached Gethin, saying, "You came and gathered a lot, Gethin. It's the intention that counts."
Cy: Wrth i'r haul penblwyddi'n troi arbennig yr eisteddfod a chuddliwio gyda gwawi'r torfeydd, gwerthfawrogi'r rhan ef a chwaraeodd yr egni'n cynyddu.
En: As the sun celebrated the unique eisteddfod and merged with the crowd's glow, appreciating the part he played, Gethin's energy increased.
Cy: Am y tro cyntaf, sylweddolodd Gethin mai'r antur a'r dewrder i groesi ffiniau diwylliannol oedd y peth mwyaf.
En: For the first time, Gethin realized that the adventure and the courage to cross cultural boundaries were the most important aspects.
Cy: Fe’i dysgodd ei wobr nid yn y ddarnau parhaol, ond yn y mwynhader cysylltiedig a wnaeth ei rwydwaith yng nghanol Patogonia ac Ymerodraeth y Cymry.
En: He learned his reward was not in the lasting pieces but in the connected enjoyment that built his network amid Patagonia and the Empire of the Cymry.
