Story Transcript:

En: In the fall, when the yellow leaves quietly fell to the ground, Mykola once again found himself by the old warehouse.

En: He stood on the boundary between the past and the present, between what he had left behind and what he could still make right.

En: The air here was always cold and damp, just like the memories that haunted him.

En: The warehouse was enormous.

En: Inside were towering, half-destroyed machines, long covered in dust.

En: They reminded him of the neglect and decay of his relationships with his family—Olena and Yurii.

En: It was here, amid this decay, that Mykola last saw his relatives.

En: Back then, a dispute over the inheritance from their parents was still boiling.

En: Pride and anger left no room for understanding.

En: This day was meant to change everything.

En: Mykola feared that their meeting would once again unleash the pain that once tore their bonds apart.

En: But the desire to see his sister and brother outweighed his fears.

En: He so wanted to receive forgiveness and a chance to start anew.

En: Olena arrived first.

En: She radiated warmth, but also wariness.

En: After her came Yurii, always reserved, though his face bore an expression of anticipation.

En: Silence reigned around them.

En: "Olena, Yurii," Mykola began, "I wanted to talk.

Uk: Я хочу вибачитися.
En: I want to apologize.

En: Everything that happened back then... it was my pride.

En: I wanted to be right and forgot about what truly matters."

En: His sister sighed, as if releasing long-held sorrow.

En: Her eyes were soft, but the water reflected maintained caution.

En: "Mykola, it was hard for all of us," Olena replied.

En: Her voice was calm, like the autumn wind.

En: "It's true," Yurii inserted.

En: "But if you really want change, I'm willing to try.

En: We can start with a small meeting, somewhere without these memories."

En: These words gave Mykola hope.

En: He realized that sometimes, to move forward, it is necessary to acknowledge your mistakes and find the courage to seek forgiveness.

En: Olena smiled, and from that smile, a warmth formed in his heart.

En: They decided to meet again at a café, where there had never been any quarrels or grievances.

En: The words promised the first step on the path to restoring what was lost.

En: As he left the warehouse, Mykola felt a lightness in his chest.

En: He knew that recovery would take time, but for the first time in many years, there was a genuine sense of hope in the air.
