#171 - Karl Friston (Consciousness Brain Prediction Inference Reality Life Cognition Agency Free will Intelligence)

What is consciousness—and why does subjective experience exist at all?

In this episode of Bendiksen Airways, I speak with Professor Karl Friston, one of the world's most influential neuroscientists and the architect of the Free Energy Principle and active inference.

We explore how the brain constructs our perception of reality, whether the self is a model generated by the brain, and what the Free Energy Principle can tell us about life, cognition, agency and consciousness. We also discuss free will, the hard problem of consciousness, artificial intelligence, and whether the principles governing brains and living systems might reveal something deeper about the nature of reality itself.

A conversation at the intersection of neuroscience, consciousness, biology, philosophy and artificial intelligence.
