Could Losing 3 Schools DESTROY the Sun Belt? | Sun Belt Podcast

Louisiana college football faces a seismic shift as the Board of Regents considers moving Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, Louisiana Tech, and ULM to the FCS.

Could this decision devastate school enrollment, athletic revenue, and Sun Belt Conference stability?

Dave Schultz argues that schools risk losing their institutional front doors—highlighting Tulane’s rise and Alabama’s enrollment boom as proof of sports’ impact beyond the field.

The conversation zeros in on Sun Belt Conference survival if it loses three Louisiana programs and JMU, what are the ripple effects?

Will rivalries vanish and divisions unbalance, forcing hasty expansion or even dissolution? Can the Sun Belt recover, or will the American Athletic Conference swoop in to poach its top teams?

Schultz raises the stakes for Louisiana college football and challenges listeners to consider what’s truly at risk if tradition gives way to short-term fixes.
