Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were murdered inside their Brentwood home. Their son, Nick Reiner, is charged with killing them — and now the case has taken an even darker turn with a grand jury allegation that he was “lying in wait.”
Retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, who spent 27 years in law enforcement and supervised homicide investigations, joins Tom Zenner to break down what “lying in wait” could reveal about the prosecution’s case — and why Bill calls it “premeditation times ten.” What evidence could investigators have uncovered months after the murders?
We examine the potential importance of Nick Reiner’s phone, text messages, location data, security cameras, the timeline surrounding Conan O’Brien’s holiday party, what happened after the killings, and what Nick’s own siblings may have told the grand jury.
We also dig into the extraordinary family and legal battle over Nick Reiner’s trust fund, his current public defender, and whether access to millions of dollars could bring high-profile defense attorney Alan Jackson back into the case. Was Rob Reiner ambushed inside his own home? And what do prosecutors know that the public still doesn’t?
