POSTCAST: Taking Advantage Of SLOPPY Defense, Mets Play SPOILER In Opener Against Texas

In the first game with Andy Green as the full-time manager, the New York Mets started their final road trip of the year with a 6-3 against the Texas Rangers.

The good vibes from the pre-game announcement of Green staying on as the Mets skipper carried over to the game, with Sean Manaea delivering a quality start and Francisco Alvarez having a nice night at the plate.

Offensively, the Mets took advantage of the Rangers sloppy defense for a couple of runs and it was a pair of doubles from Alvarez that led the way.

As for Manaea, he finally got through a sixth inning without any trouble. He also added 9 strikeouts over his six innings of work.

With the Rangers still hoping to land in the playoffs, the Mets can continue their spoiler role tomorrow night in the second game of this series.

POSTCAST host Chris Schubert breaks down all the action after the game.
