Trinidad Chambliss Is The Best Player In America | Ole Miss 32, LSU 24 | Golding Wins 2nd Top 10 Game

Every postgame show in America is going to lead with Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford. That's the wrong story. Ole Miss beat a top-ten LSU team 32-24 because a quarterback who had not run a single designed run in three games kept it on a zone read from fourteen yards out, and because a coaching staff handed JT Lindsey the football inside the one-yard line with the game on the line. Trinidad Chambliss is the best player in America, and JT Lindsey is the name you write down tonight.

Steven Willis reacts live from the Grove to a 32-24 win over LSU — the zone read keeper this show called eight hours before kickoff, the sentence he has been waiting three weeks to say about Chambliss, and the honest autopsy on a 24-7 halftime lead that turned into a one-score fourth quarter.

📌 THREE THINGS

1. Trinidad Chambliss is the best football player in America. That was a top-ten defense with NFL players at all three levels, run by a coordinator whose reputation is built on taking the ball away, on national television, and Ole Miss scored 32. The other names in the Heisman conversation produce inside systems built to protect them. Chambliss is the system.

2. The zone read keeper was not improvisation. Chambliss had zero designed quarterback runs in three games — a deliberate decision to protect the season, not a limitation. It came out of the drawer on the one night it mattered, against the one defense least equipped to handle it, and it went for fourteen yards and a touchdown.

3. JT Lindsey scored the two-point conversion from inside the one, against an LSU front, in the fourth quarter of the biggest game this program has played in a year. The staff had four safer calls and used none of them. That handoff tells you what they see in practice every day.
