All eyes were on the U.N. General Assembly meeting and President Trump’s meeting with Xi Jing Ping last week. Expectations were measured, though hopes were high
in the financial markets that having all the players in the two major wars which have had significantly negative impacts on energy markets, might lead to a turning point in the conflicts. In the end, nothing that hadn't been arranged prior to the meetings last week was achieved. As expected, the new U.S. military arrangement with Greenland was ratified and the Chinese trade standoff was paused until January. However, that doesn't mean there wasn't progress made during the week.
