DYNAMIC MOVE: Could Cole Eiserman ELEVATE Islanders Offense or Is It TOO SOON?

The New York Islanders preseason buzz centers on Cole Eiserman’s breakout performance and what his dynamic scoring could mean for a team desperate for offensive firepower. Gil Martin examines Eiserman’s chances of cracking the opening night roster, the risk of promoting him too soon, and the strategic crossroads for a franchise aiming for perennial contender status. Can Eiserman fill the Islanders’ scoring void even if there are growing pains off the puck?

The roster battle heats up with Victor Eklund making a strong case for a top-9 spot, while veterans like Ondrej Pallott and Pierre Engvall may be blocking young talent’s path. Martin explores the backup goalie dilemma—should the Isles risk losing Vitek Vanacek on waivers or carry three netminders to protect against injuries? Key discussions also include first training camp cuts, the franchise’s long-term vision under Mathieu Darche, and what to expect as preseason intensity ramps up.

All this and more on today's Locked On Islanders Podcast with Gil Martin.
