Good Morning Portugal! 🇵🇹☕
In this episode we welcome back **Roel & Jay from Damp Guard** — the team helping expats and homeowners finally solve Portugal’s persistent damp and mold problem.
They explain their revolutionary **Positive Input Ventilation (PIV)** systems (imported from the UK):
• Create gentle positive pressure to push out stale, humid air
• Filter incoming air with HEPA filters (great for allergies & pollen)
• Reduce mold, condensation, and that musty smell
• Work 24/7 with very low running costs (like an LED light bulb)
• Are perfect for typical Portuguese homes (including older buildings)
They also introduce their new **decentralised VMC system** for smaller spaces like garages, pool houses, or tiny homes.
Roel and Jay share their own experiences battling mold in Portugal, why 95% of their clients are expats, and practical advice for anyone tired of the annual “wipe and paint” routine.
