Gender identity is one of the most significant issues facing the church and culture today. In this episode of Equipping You in Grace, Dave Jenkins explores what Scripture teaches about creation, identity, and God's design for humanity. Beginning in Genesis 1–2, this episode examines the biblical foundation for understanding human beings as male and female, created in the image of God and designed to live according to His purposes. This episode addresses body-self dualism, expressive individualism, the relationship between the body and soul, and the cultural ideas that shape modern discussions about gender identity. It also explains how Christians can respond with biblical conviction, compassion, and hope while pointing people to the transforming power of the gospel. The gospel offers more than answers to cultural confusion. It offers forgiveness, a new identity in Christ, and the hope of restoration through the Savior who makes all things new.
