ARCH MANIA: Texas Mounts Record Comeback vs Ohio State While Oregon Ducks Endure 'Quack-tastrophe' in Stillwater

The Texas Longhorns mount a historic comeback to stun Ohio State, overcoming a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit behind Arch Manning’s electrifying performance. Manning’s clutch play not only ignites the Heisman Trophy conversation but raises the stakes for Texas as a national title contender. The panel explores just how significant this victory is for the Longhorns’ playoff aspirations and whether this game marks a defining moment for both Manning and coach Steve Sarkisian’s program. With Texas surging, Darian Mensah and Malachi Toney’s Heisman campaigns are also placed under the microscope—can anyone rival the narrative power of the Manning and Longhorns brand after such a marquee win?

Spencer McLaughlin and other Locked On hosts to break down the Oregon Ducks’ shocking defeat to Oklahoma State, dissecting Dan Lanning’s coordinator hires, the team’s unexpected lack of execution, and whether Oregon’s top-25 ranking is justified. Cody Stovall and Jake Hatch add perspective on Drew Mestemaker’s standout plays and Oklahoma State’s offensive line rotation that kept the Ducks’ defense in check. Attention turns to Oklahoma Sooners’ surprising offensive struggles at Michigan as John Mateer falters under pressure, sparking heated debate about the Ben Arbuckle experiment and the Air Raid system. Can Brent Venables steady the Sooners after a loss that exposes their vulnerabilities and shakes their postseason hopes?

The conversation dives into slumping Big Ten and SEC narratives, spotlighting Mississippi State’s statement win at Minnesota and Miami’s odd ACC schedule challenges. The hosts name key coaches, including Greg Schiano and Dabo Swinney, who are feeling the heat and risk winding up on “buyout island” if their teams don’t deliver. Insights on up-and-coming prospects, coaching hot seats, and critical conference battles set the stage for a volatile college football landscape. Panelists also share insider perspectives on roster depth, schedule quirks, fan reactions, and which programs have the NFL-caliber talent to bounce back.

Will Oregon or Oklahoma recover in time, or are their College Football Playoff dreams slipping away? Can Arch Manning ride his Heisman moment all the way to New York City and cement a new Longhorns dynasty? This fast-paced analysis offers the stories, controversies, and high-stakes drama shaping the 2026 college football season.
