REVEALED: Arizona Wildcats OBSESSED with BYU Payback—Kalani Sitake & Brent Brennan Ready for Battle | Brennan Downplays BYU Fan Impact | Big 12 Three Up, Three Down

BYU football aims to extend its reign over the Arizona Wildcats in a pivotal Big 12 showdown—can Kalani Sitake keep the streak alive, or will Brent Brennan and quarterback Noah Fifita deliver long-awaited payback? With BYU holding a five-game winning streak and Sitake undefeated against Arizona in his head coaching tenure, Saturday’s matchup in Provo is shaping up as an early season tone-setter for both programs. Arizona’s players and staff have openly targeted this contest for redemption, and defensive coordinator Danny Gonzalez claims preparation started the moment last year’s double-overtime loss ended. The Wildcats seek to reverse a run that’s left them winless against the Cougars since joining as Big 12 rivals, putting extra focus on Fifita’s ability to overcome Provo’s cauldron-like atmosphere.

Jake Hatch dives deep into the familiar coaching rivalry between Sitake and Brennan, how their Oregon State ties add layers to game-day strategy, and why crowd noise at LaVell Edwards Stadium can’t be underestimated despite Brent Brennan’s attempts to downplay its effects. Player spotlights include BYU’s Bear Bachmeier and the hard-hitting, reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year LJ Martin, as well as updates on Arizona’s running back eligibility that could become game-changing if cleared. Jake Hatch questions whether the Wildcats’ rushing attack—with key contributors still in limbo—can stack up after a flat performance last week. Additional analysis covers what makes Cougar Nation one of college football’s most intimidating home crowds, referencing memorable moments where fan impact rattled even the most experienced opponents.

The episode also unveils a new “Big 12 Three Up, Three Down” segment, ranking the winners, surprise letdowns, best coaching decisions, and fan support from around the conference’s opening weekend. Learn why teams like Colorado and Baylor get a nod for grit and bold plays, while programs such as Oklahoma State and Houston face scrutiny for their missteps on and off the field. Jake Hatch offers sharp takes on how these early trends could reshape the conference race and what other fan bases can learn from BYU supporters’ unwavering enthusiasm, even for an FCS blowout. Can Arizona snap the streak, or will Sitake and the Cougars capitalize on their home advantage yet again?
