REACTION: BYU Downs Colorado State: LJ Martin Dominates, Backups Lull & Addressing CSU's Derogatory Anti-LDS Chants | POSTCAST

Welcome into another episode of Locked On Cougars, hosted by Jake Hatch! The No. 11 BYU Cougars went on the road to Canvas Stadium and secured a statement 41-23 victory over former conference rival Colorado State. But while the final score reflects a comfortable win, there is plenty to unpack from Saturday night's action in Fort Collins.

On today's show, we break down BYU's dominant performance. The story of the game offensively was running back LJ Martin, who put on an absolute clinic, erupting for 176 yards and three touchdowns while carving up the Rams' defense. When the starters were on the field, the Cougars completely dictated the terms of the game, showcasing the high-end potential of this roster.

However, we also address the glaring issues that popped up late. We discuss the disappointing lack of focus from the backups down the stretch, which allowed Colorado State to push back and score two late touchdowns that made the final score closer than the game actually felt.

Finally, we address the ugly side of the evening. We discuss the derogatory and offensive religious chants directed at BYU by elements of the Colorado State student section, examining CSU's official formal apology issued during the game, why this recurring issue continues to plague college athletics venues, and how the program and its supporters handled the unacceptable environment.
